What Do These Blood Test Results Indicate?

Just got results back from annual physical blood test. Low white cell count (2.8), low vitamin D level (13.7) and blood sugar 106. Just turned 60 and have all my life had excellent test results (all other categories are still excellent). Any idea what could be up here?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Based on the results you have posted, the following things can be inferred:
1. Blood glucose is within normal limits.
2. Vitamin D levels is slightly decreased. This is commonly seen in elderly age. Expose your skin more to sunlight, which would help you to synthesize Vitamin D naturally. You can take Vitamin D supplementation along with calcium regularly, so that it would help to keep your bones stronger.
3. WBC count seems to be lower than normal. The only worry about it is your immunity will be lower and you might be more prone for infections. You can boost your immunity by taking Vitamin and Mineral supplements as well as eating healthy foods rich in proteins.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
