Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently had multiple fractures of the sinus plate, test were done to which there were signals of clonus, hyper reflexia and Hoffman. An MRI was ordered of the brain without contrast the findings were as follows; no diffusion restriction to suggest acute to early subacute infarction. Mild amount of parenchymal volume loss characterized by prominence of the cerebral sulci. Subcentimeter nonspecific focus of T2 flair hyper intensity in the perinventricular white matter adjacent to the lateral aspect of the atrium of the left ventricle. No additional parenchymal signal alteration visualized. No susceptibility to suggest underlying hemmorhage.subcentimeter signal alterations in the maxillary sinus bilaterally are suggestive of retention cysts. Mild mucosal thickening in the left frontal and bilateral maxillary sinuses. What does this mean
The MRI of the skull shows presence of retention cysts in maxillary sinuses. Retention cysts are fluid filled collections in maxillary sinuses. It may be required to surgically remove the retention cyst if they become symptomatic.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
