What Do These Lab Reports Indicate?

Hi recently I was operated for complete excision of pleomorphic sarcoma . Histopathology report 1 revealed one margin no clear ( proximal ) Report 2 revealed that all margins are clear. Pet scan was done as per them Dr.X mentioned that metastasis has spread to lymph nodes and requires second surgery . Dr.Y. suggested that the changes in the lymph nodes could be due to surgical changes and suggested for second surgery to clear the margins. In pet scan suv index is 33. Following the surgery both have suggested to take radiotherapy/chemotherapy. I am totally confused with these findings both are well known oncologists . Kindly advise. Thanks Mr.Sk

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

In your case, both of your oncologists are right. Definitely you should go for second surgery followed by radiotherapy / chemotherapy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
