Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a chronic pain patient and scheduled for a stimulator implant. However, I had one last MRI on my hip that states I have the following:1. MILD OSTEOARTHRITIS IN THE HIP JOINT 2/ DEGENERATIVE FRAYING OF THE SUPERIOR LABRUM. 3. SEPETAtED FLUID COLLECTION ALONG THE POSTERIOR ASPECT OF THE LESSER TROCHANTER WHICH COULD BE A GANGLION CYST.4 TINY AMOUNT OF FLUID IN THE ILIOPSOAS BURSA.Does any of the above mean I should wait and see another doctor? If so, what kind of doctor?
Your hip joint has degeneration due to age related changes. You might need total hip replacement, needs to see your MRI scan. It also depends on how much symptomatic you are.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
