What Do These Thyroid Levels And MRI Test Results While Having Hypothyroidism Indicate?

My 12 year old son with congenital hypothyroidism had his biannual checkup with his endocrinologist today. Blood work was drawn 2 weeks prior to his appt. All thyroid levels remain WNL controlled by his meds. Today his result showed a Prolactin level of 29ng/dl. This past Oct prolactin level was 14ng/dl. His dr ordered an MRI to see how large the lesion is. I said hold on lets back up, I m confused because he hasn t had the MRI yet to even determine if a lesion is present or not. He stated, this blood result means it s always a lesion. He assured me it is benign and easily treated with po meds. My question is, if what he is saying sounds accurate in regards to elevated prolactin indicating a certain lesion (also taking his age and diagnosis into consideration)?

Increased prolactin level with hypothyroidism may be due to pathology in brain.Do MRI as early as possible. Usually small lesion may be treated medically .So nothing to be worried about it now.
