Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am hoping you can decipher the following: Radiologist: Findings: The right breast is heterogeneously dense, which may obscure small masses. There are no suspicious masses, calcifications or areas of architectural distortion. On targeted ultrasound at the palpable area of concern in the right axilla, there are multiple enlarged lymph nodes with cortical thickening and abnormal morphology. An example lymph nodes measures 2.7 x 1.9 cm with no identifiable normal fatty hilum. Impression: Right breast: Multiple enlarged and abnormal right axillary lymph nodes are suspicious. These correlate to palpable area of concern as indicated by the patient. BI-RADS Category 4 . Biopsy recommended. *Can you please tell me what BI-RADS Category 4 means? I ve been scheduled for an additional biopsy. Thank you!

What Do These Ultrasound Findings Indicate?
Hi, BIRADS is a scoring system for breast lumps. In this case there is a small risk of malignancy which merits a histological evaluation by biopsy. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
