What Do These Urine Cytology Test Results Indicate?

I am a 78 year old woman, just had a urine cytology in prep for a surveillance cystoscopy after removal of small cancerous bladder lesion on bladder wall last October. RBC & WBC were normal. Bacteria result = OCC and Epithelial cells = Rare. What do the last 2 results mean? Thank you, R.L.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

According to your urine cytology test results you have RBCs & WBCs under normal limit. Epithelial cells are very rarely seen in urine & there is occasional bacteria seen. After removal of small cancerous bladder lesion on bladder an occasional epithelial cell or bacteria seen is not significant.
So all togethar urine cytology test results you mentioned is normal & you should not be much concerned about it.

Refer to your physician
Don't worry you should be fine
Hope this information helps
