my father is a 67y/o with chronic pancreatitis x 10yrs, recently Dx diabetic (december 2014). He is just returning from florida where he had multiple blood tests and has felt ill for over 2 weeks. He is currently laying down with 7/10 back/pancreatic pain and his glucose is 220 with zero food since yesterday at 6pm. When I took his glucose level he said it has been up to 600 in the past few days!! The blood tests revealed amylase 5, lipase 6, A1c% 9.3, glucose 398, potassium 130, chloride 94, albumin 2.5, globulins 4.4, A/G ratio 0.6, calcium 11, alk phos 209, EGFR 80.05. These are from 03/17/15. He is refusing an ambulance and I need to know if this is something that can wait. My gut says I should call an ambulance anyway, but he is very angry with me for even suggesting this. Please help.
