Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I found out that my sister has palsy but I am not sure of what type she.She has developed tremors over the past ten to fifteen years. She is now sixty six years old and they have gotten so bad that she has a hard time to eat because she is shaking so much. She is also starting to have a problem walking and standing.I don t know what to do to help her and I don t know what to expect next.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Tremors may have many causes, but in context of palsy and difficulties in standing causes related to brain are more important. This may be stroke, Parkinsonism or Parkinson's plus syndrome or rarely brain tumours with difficulty in standing and walking, Parkinson is a possibility. So I would suggest you should take her to a neurologist on priority basis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman
