Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Thank you so much for your assistance. My husband owns a HVAC business and does much fine work with wiring, etc. He has developed a tremor in his left hand, which is constant. He believes it to be the result of carpel tunnel syndrome and has started wearing a band on his wrist, as he was told that this would help. However, it has not. Could this actually be carpel tunnel, or do you believe it is something else? I look forward to and appreciate your insight.
Tremors are caused by certain neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, or hyperthyroidism, alcohol intoxication or its withdrawal, lead intoxication, certain medications, carbon monoxide poisoning, and other conditions.
Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs due to compression of the median nerve as it travels through the wrist at the carpal tunnel. The main symptoms are a pain, numbness, and tingling, in the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and the thumb side of the ring fingers. It does not cause tremors. In view of the above, he needs to be examined by a doctor for further evaluation and to rule out the causes mentioned above.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
