Hi, I have a 5 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. My daughter started to have white spots in her mouth. Later in started to notice red spots on her hands and feet. It s been 3 days that the spots has been there. Now that my son has it, should I take both of them in for a check up?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think they are both having feet, mouth and hand disease. It is caused by a viral infection. It is common for the kids of this age who live in the community to have it. It can go by itself in 5 days. You can give them ketotifen for itching. No treatment is required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
