What Do White Spots On The Brain In An MRI Report Suggest?

I had a stroke in October they did an MRI with contrast during that time and found some kind of white spots on my brain. They re not sure what they are the lumbar puncture and everything came back negative for cancer and Ms. Tomorrow I have another MRI with contrast to see if there spots on my brain or more less or the same. I m freaking out, I m 55 and don t want another lumbar puncture.. I know there won t more test no matter what what if they did the lumbar puncture and everything came back negative why would we do it again or why worry about it? Not looking forward to the MRI not looking forward to the contrast not looking forward to the results. Any guesses and should I be worried?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hi,

White spots on the brain could be de-myelination of the grey matter. However, there are multiple possibilities for white spots.

I suggest you consult your neurologist for clinical assessment and thus management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
