What Do White Spots On The Tonsil Indicate?

In the past year, I have been to an ENT to diagnose a growth where my tonsil used to be. After multiple visits, MRI, etc it was diagnosed as a tonsil tag. However, now there are white spots on the tonsil tag. What could this be? An infection? When I press on the tonsil tag a little bit of yellowish-white pus comes out. No pain, no sore throat, just curios what it be?

Hello,

As per your query, you have symptoms of white spots on the tonsil which is due to possibility of that tonsils are filled with pus.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain complete oral hygiene and consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor will examine you completely and prescribe antibiotics.

In some cases tonsillectomy is needed. For now do warm saline gargles which help in removing stones. Avoid intake of sharp and spicy food and cold beverages.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
