What Do You Suggeast For Reddened Area On The Foot After Skating?

My son has a reddened area on his foot after skating.He has had to elevate it for several days. Today he saw a doctor and she suggested it was cellulitis .She did not give him an antibiotic and suggested baby aspirin.She did a blood test and said he did not need an antibiotic.

I really appreciate your concern the chances of cellulitis is likely if this cellulitis then this may take some time to come around, second the reason of cellulitis has to be found out, in certain cases the antibiotic required if the total count increases, if I would be your doctor then I would treat him with the following medicine,
1) Tab Ibuprofen 200 mg twice day
2) Alpha-chymotrypsin twice a day
keep the leg in elevated position all along the way, be patience if this is persistence then you have to go for further investigation, hope this information helps you, have nice day.
