What Do You Suggest For Buzzing In My Ear After A Severe Congestion?
I am curious about a buzzing in my left ear. I just got over a pretty bad cold with severe congestion. I can feel congestion in my ears yet. I am assuming the buzzing is a result of the congestion, but I would like to know if I should be concerned, how long it should last and what exactly is going on. Thanks.
It is likely that you are feeling the buzzing because of the congestion. Dont worry , this is normal and will disappear in a week to 10 days However if it persists longer or you develop ear pain or ear discharge , i would like you to meet your ent doctor immediately!
Hi and thanks for the query, Buzzing in the ear is due to blocked eustachian tubes. Do not worry. You can use decongestant nose drops like otrivin to open the tubes. Instill 3 drops in each nostril 3 times daily for 5 days. Follow it up with steam inhalation. If you do not feel better in 3 more days then you need to see a doctor because you may need a course of antibiotics. Regards, Dr Rajkishori Godhi
