What Do You Suggest For Pain When On Doxy For Epididymitis?
I was diagnosed with epididymitis one week ago and have finished a 7day course of doxy 100mg BID. Motrin and naprosyn have not seemed to help my pain at all. I see a urologist on Monday. Had an U/S that showed a hydrocele and an epididymal cyst. I am still in a lot of pain and have not improved at all over the past week. What would be the next course of action to expect?
General & Family Physician, Dr. H S Tak's Response
Hello, as you were diagnosed Epididymitis which is a infective disease of testis and is painful , also you had treatment for it by antibiotic and anti inflammatory drugs , but you don't get relief by it and still your pain persists and after ultra sonography of testis and scrotum you were diagnosed hydrocele with epididymal cyst , which can be treated by surgical intervention, so it is my opinion that you must consult the Surgeon and get the proper surgical treatment for the cyst and hydrocele you have.Good luck and take care.
