What Does the following MRI Scan Result Indicate?
I had an MRI done on my right shoulder after several months of pain. The findings were: No evidence for os acromiale. A type I laterally downsloping acromion process is noted. Moderate degenerative changes seen in the acromioclavicular joint. Rotator cuff is intact. Posterior superior labral tear is identified. Altered signal intensity seen within the intra-articular portion of the biceps tendon which may represent an interstitial tear and/or tendinosis. Fluid seen in the subdeltoid, subacromial bursa. This sounds very serious. How bad is it and what are options to correct the problem?

The labral tear--that's a tear of the cartilage in the socket part of the shoulder joint--is likely a surgical problem requiring arthroscopic surgery.
I would have you get physical therapy three times a week for six weeks to see if that helps, but if it didn't, I'd refer you to an orthopedic surgeon
