What Does this MRI Scan Result Mean?

My 16 y/o niece had an MRI that showed a 1 cm parenchymal lesion on right frontal convexity. She has had no trauma just recent hx of headaches. Report said that it could be consistent with microvascular gliosis. Should we be worried? Her PCP is referring to neurologist

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The MRI report suggest a gliotic area in the rift frontal convexity.
2.The possible cause could be gliotic tumor of supra-tentorium, ( astrocytoma most common)
3.It can be inflammatory changes, parenchyma changes, microvascular causes.
4.This can be differentiated through contrast enhanced computer tomography.
5.The differentiation of the inflammatory and malignant can be differentiated with type of enhancement, calcifications, intra axial and extra axial.
6.You should be worried until its confirmed what it is with further evaluation. Good luck.

Hope i have answered your query.
