Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My cousin who is married. Married life 4 yr still he does nt have a kid. His report says dat semen analysis: Sperm count -115 million/ ml Sperm motility- 20% actively motile 55%sluggish motility 25% nonmotile Sperm morphology- 30% normal sperm Pls tel us wat treatment he has to take .. whether he can become father or not ????
I can understand your concern for your friend. I would explain you his semen analysis. Sperm count of any number above 20 million per ml is considered normal. At least 60% of sperm should be swimming, actively or sluggishly. Your friend's semen shows 75% of sperms in swimming state. In addition, at least 14% of sperms should show normal morphology, which is 30% here. Thus, according to semen analysis, your friend seems fine to be a father without treatment.
I would advise you to ask your friend to visit a gynecologist for examination of his wife. After examination and investigations of his wife, the doctor can suggest treatment of his wife, if needed or can guide him regarding the ways that can help them conceive faster.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HCM for your concern. Let me know if I can answer any follow up questions.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
