Right Kidney 10 cm length and left kidney 11cm. No hydronephrosis, calculi, perinephric collections.Normal cortical echogenicity. No ascites. Could you tell me what does all this mean. Thank you
Hello, thanks for posting your query on HCM. This is a report of an ultrasound study of the abdomen. The liver, gall bladder, spleen and both kidneys are normal in size and appearance. There are no stones in the gall bladder or kidneys, and no evidence of obstruction of the urinary tract. The common bile duct size is on higher side (not very abnormal), but there is no reason to suspect an obstruction. The aorta and IVC (large blood vessels) also appear normal. No fluid is seen in the abdominal cavity. The pancreas shows diffuse increase in brightness suggestive of fat deposition. This is associated with aging or obesity usually.
There are no details about the indication for doing the ultrasound but, overall it appears to be a normal study. Hope this is helpful. Take care.
