Hello Doc, My 4.10 yrs son s routine stool reports are as Follows Occult blood: present (trace) Reacti: acidic Mucus : trace Fat globules: absent RBC : 8-10. Hpf Puss cell s : occasionally/hpf Epithelial cells : 2-3 Veg cells/ fibres : few+ /hpf After every meal he passed motions Was prescribed oflox100 -3.5 ml twice for 8 days and metrogyl 5 ml for 6 days twice a day
Noted in stool report RBC present and occult blood positive...
Your child given oflixacin and metronidazole combination drug which is correct for infective diarrhea....
Here your child might have parasitic infection .... Repeat stool test two time more... If three time comes negative then parasite infection excluded....
If needed USG done for further work up.
Complete the treatment....
Meanwhile give him more water And maintain hydration plus electrolyte balance.... ORS given with water.Frequent sips taken... Semisolid food given to him....
