Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
There are 2 sub centimeter echogenic foci seen in the left kidney, most compatible with nonobstructive nephrolithiasis. This was written on my ultrasound result. Should I be worried . I have an authorization to see a urologist, but I m worried that I might need to have surgery ... I am 42 years old ... What procedure must be done to get rid of the stone
Your ultrasound findings may suggest two small non obstructing calculus in left kidney. Treatment of renal calculus depend upon many things like composition, position, size of calculus etc. Small calculus may pass spontaneously with adequate hydration. You should drink lot of water and initially you may need syrup like sodium and potassium citrate.
You may also need routine hemogram, random blood sugar, urine RE/ME. You should consult urologist for detail evaluation.
