What Does this Thyroid Ultrasound test Result Mean?

Hello, I had an thyroid ultrasound today. Background, been diagnosed with thyroid cancer 8 years ago (total thyroidectomy, 5cm growth, stage 3. Currently, female, 60 years old. Been having post op irritation such as hoarse voice and often no voice, swollen glands, dry mouth, and constantly trying to clear the phlem in my throat. The ultra sound report indicates lymph nodes:small with fatty hila and no lymphadenopathy in neck. Do I need to see a voice specialist?.....Rose

Hi,

The ultrasound did not find any evidence of significant lymph node enlargement (no lymphadenopathy), which is good.

The post nasal drip of mucus would contribute your hoarseness. This is most commonly due to allergies.

The use of antihistamine/decongestant would help even if there is no nasal congestion.
