What Does 24 Free Cortisol Urine Test Of Count 130 Indicate ?

i just got lab results for 24hr free cortisol urine test my result is 130 what does this mean i have appt to see endocrinologist in august i just got lab results for 24hr free cortisol urine test. my result is 130, what does this mean. i have appt to see endocrinologist in august?any help would be much appreciated. I am 29 female who has gained over 25kg in last 18months.

The urinary cortisol is high in urine. Normal level is 10-100mcg/24 hours. It could mean that you have Cushing's syndrome which means that the hormone Cortisol is high in your body. This could be the reason you are gaining weight. Also other effects like delayed wound healing, hypertension, diabetes, osteoporosis can occur. Endocrinologist will confirm what is causing this high hormone level. If there is problem in Pituitary gland, Adrenal gland or other source by more tests. Get your BP checked regularly and blood sugar also. Avoid high carbohydrate diet like excess rice, dosa, fatty diet, sweet diet. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Do brisk walking exercise everyday. Follow up with your Endocrinologist for proper diagnosis and management.
