My CT Scan from last Friday shows I have have 3 areas of nodal calcifications. I don't know what they are and if they mean anything. I am having stomach pain and have been for several months. Gallbladder removed March 2011. Brain surgery Nov. 2006 dx Oligo II, followed by 21 months of Temodar. Now on seizure meds for simple partials. Female, 58, last MRI clear. Everyone looks for metastatic disease anytime I have a complaint. I know this is not the case here. But they never look any further if they don't find cancer. I am frustrated. Sick & tired of being sick & tired!
Hi, Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic. I think the CT scan which you did was of chest/abdomen as we can see nodal calcifications in chest/abdomen regions. Nodal calcificaions mean calcification of the lymph nodes. These calcifications are indicators of chronic disease and there is no clinical significance. Calcified lymph nodes can be present for a long time and they will not go easily. As there is no clinical significance you can leave them alone. Apart from that, there are no other findings suggestive of any significant disease. So, I think you should be alright and there should not be anything to worry about. Hope it sorts your problem and wishing you a speedy recovery. Regards, Dr. Pankaj Nagori Specialist Radiologist
