What Does 4.5 A1C Mean And How Can I Deal With It?

A1C is at 4.5 I just had some lab work done and my.A1C test result came back as 4.5 . The doctor told me that I was on the low side of normal . She said normal is 5.1 ~ 5.7 . I was diagnosed as prediabetic seven years ago but fought it off. The doctor at that time said I was hypoglycemic and had pushed my sugars too high. So, what exactly does a 4.5 A1C mean? I have been having issues lately is which why I had the lab work done. What can I do to deal with this now?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Hb A 1c is the investigation done in case of diabetes mellitus.
This investigation is done to know the control of blood glucose levels over past six months.
You need not do anything to correct Hb A1c levels.
It is below the normal range however, this could be due tpo instrumental error.
You can get the test repeated after six months.
In the mean while, the fasting blood glucose levels needs to be tested regularly at one month interval.

Thanks and take care
