What Does ESR Result Being 70 In A Teenager Suggest?

My son is aged 14 years. I got his ESR test conducted on 16th May. The ESR result is 70. What does it mean? Also in his widal test it shows:Titre of TO Antibody - 1:320 and Titre of TH Antibody - 1:4. Further, Titre of AH Antibody and Titre of BH Antibody, it is showing No Agglutination. What does it mean? Thanks in anticipation.

Hello,

ESR is a non-specific marker and is raised in inflammatory conditions. Titre of TO antibody to be 1:320 suggests enteric fever. Enteric fever is the probable cause of raised ESR. I suggest you to consult your physician for treatment of enteric fever. ESR is expected to come to normal once enteric fever is treated.
