What Does HBsAg Test Report As Negative, Borderline And Reactive Suggest?

I just got my test result for HBsAg and it says that it is negative, borderline and reactive.. I just want to know the meaning of this and for added information, I was also vaccinated for Hepa B with booster last 2009. Am I infected base on this result or am I not infected? thank you.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

The HBsAg test can be reported as negative, borderline or reactive.
The test cannot be negative, borderline and reactive-all three at one time.
After vaccination, the HBsAg is positive or reactive.
However, no other antigen or antibody is positive in case of vaccination.
Thus, it is normal to have positive HBsAg after hepatitis vaccination and it does not suggest infection.

Thanks and take care
