What Does HIV Spot Non Reactive From Blood Test Indicate?
Good day 4 wees ago I had a sexual intercourse with a girl (not sure if she is HIV positive or not) without protection (Viginal) . since then I had NO HIV signs at all and just went to do blod test and my HIV spot (Oncoprobe) is non reactive. what does this mean? Am i safe?! what else can I do?

This means that you are not carrying HIV antibodies. To be absolutely sure you need to do the tests at 90 days and when it comes negative then only you can be declared HIV neg as the window period for HIV might be as high as 3 months.

thank you for query.these spot tests usually test for presence of antibodies.so on the testing day there is no HIV antibodies present in body.these are produced if a person is exposed to HIV.usually it will be positive by 3 months after exposure to the infection. you can go for HIV RNA PCR test at this stage or do retest for antibodies after 3 months from the exposure.You can get back to me for any clarifications with the details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist

As you mentioned that you had sexual intercourse 4 weeks ago ( unprotected sex)and got blood test for HIV confirmation ( oncoprobe ) , this is NON-REACTIVE , it means NEGATIVE for HIV infection i.e. you are HIV free.
Antibodies to HIV begin to appear within 2 weeks of initial primary infection ( means 2 weeks after sexual contract with that girl ).
I don't recommend you any test , nothing to worry and forget this episode.
