Radiologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

There is degeneration of lumbar spine disc between L 4 and L 5. This is resulting in the disc herniating between the bones. The nerve roots pass through these neural foramina and you might have severe nerve root compression at that level more on left side. There is also a bulging disc at level L 3 - L 4. The nerve pain may be controlled with restricted physical activity and pain relief medication. Please do not do heavy physical activity till you are comfortable. Severe pain not responding to treatment may need surgery. Laser surgery is a recent development.
