I'm 46 and a competative ballroom dancer so very active . I'm 200 pounds in weight but only 17% body fat . Last year my PSA was 4.3 . I had a biopcy which came back negative :) I just had a blood test done and my new PSA is 8,7 . Any suggestions as to what's causing this ?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

If you had PSA done earlier and biopsy was negative then there is no need to worry. Your PSA levels may be high due to prostate infection. Please consult an urologist and get examined for possible prostatitis. This can cause elevation of PSA. You may choose to get a higher imaging investigation done if your urologist makes a suggestion after complete clinical evaluation.
