What Does Stable Linear Fibrosis In Upper Left Lung Mean?

hi doctor! good day, may i ask if what is the meaning of Stable Linear Fibrosis in the left upper Lungs..? my brother discovered that he have a Linear fibrosis on his upper left lungs last 2012 but get under medication on November 30 2013 for 6 months.. and yesterday after X-ray the result was he got a Stable Linear in the upper left lungs since November 31, 2014 residual of old PTB.

Linear fibrotic band seen on chest x ray is due to healed lesion.
In lung tissue healing occurs by
1. Fibrosis
2. Calcification
3. Bronchiectasis
4. Complete resolution ( very rare )
So TB or pneumonia once cured, healed by above mechanism and most common is fibrosis.
And on chest x ray this fibrosis looks like linear opacity, which remains life long. So this does not need any treatment.
So be relax and keep calm.
