What Does T3-0.79nmol/L,T4-13.85 Nmol/L And TSH - 190.00 Nmol/L Suggest?

Dear Doctor

Greetings from Bangladesh.

My name is Mrs.Shyfoon Naher. I live in Dhaka,Bangladesh. I am a 41-year’s old married woman. My height is 5 feet 01 inch. My normal weight is 56-58 kg. But at present, it is 63 Kg. I was not a fatty person. Now I look fatty. It seems that excess water is in my body that’s why I look fatty.

My elder daughter is 14 and youngest daughter is only 06 years. I gave them birth by normal delivery. But during the delivery of my youngest daughter, I faced a massive bleeding and I was unconscious for an hour though no blood was given to me.. From that time, I have been suffering from some physical problem. Recently on 25 July 2011, I checked my Thyroid hormones...The test report is as follows:

T3=0.79 nmol/L

T4=13.85 nmol/L

*** TSH=190.00 nmol/L

Since one month, I have been facing sudden Muscle tighten (Muscle pull) problem. This is too painful and unexplainable. I do not feel any energy or interest to do any work even I do not feel any sexual desire. Now I am taking one thyroxin tab (50mg) every day. Please advise me for any sorts of biochemical treatment.

Best regards

S.Naher

Report Abuse
Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi Mrs. Naher,

From the reports, it is apparent that you have primary hypothyroidism. The symptoms that you have enumerated are also consistent with hypothyroidism.

You should be receiving levothyroxine supplementation, along with certain other tests to look for cause of hypothyroidism.

I suggest you to see an Endocrinologist in person and get a prescription for levothyroxine with suitable dose according to your weight, since it is a prescription drug and hence can't be prescribed at this platform.

Hope it helps....
