What Does A Child S Refusal To Wipe After Passing Stools Suggest?

I am at my wits end! My 8 year old son never wipes himself all the way and has not for months! What is more frusturating is that I tell him all he has do is call his Dad or I in and we will help but he never does no matter what! He has had everything under the moon taken away and he does not care and you can flat out ask them if there is poop in his underwear and he will flat out lie when you can smell him! What do I do I?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Possibly the wipes you are using may irritate the anus. You may need to change brand using more gentle wipes or you can wash him with soap and water instead.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
