What Does A Cyst Below The Penis Indicate?

I have what looks to be a cyst on the underside of my penis just below the head. It s pea sized. Never hurts. Skin colored. I ve had it since about thirteen. It s never caused any discomfort other than a little anxiety from it. Recently I tried an aspiration on it with a sterile needle. Just a little blood came out so I stopped what I was doing and cleaned up with rubbing alcohol. What exactly should I do and am I right about the diagnosis?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

A cyst in the given region is quite unlikely and if at all you aspirated only blood it is quite unlikely in my opinion.

I would first suggest you visit a doctor for an STD-panel which will rule out conditions pike herpes, HPV, etc; which in your case could be due inherited. Speak to your parents as well and once STDs are ruled out, then we can assume this to be benign and innocent, and thus it can easily be excised.

Best wishes
