What Does A Dark Spot Above The Front Teeth Indicate?

Hello, I went to the orthodontists and when they took and ex-ray they discovered a dark spot above my two front teeth. I am being referred to and oral surgeon. Hes not willing to put my braces on until I get this issue fixed. What can it be? I am not in any pain or anything like that..

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain a dark spot between front two teeth can be an artifact that is a simple illusion and nothing specific..

Secondly it can also be due to cyst formation or bone loss in that area...
It is correct that braces cannot be placed until the problem is ruled out and treated to prevent any deleterious effects..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and he can take x rays by changing the angulation of x ray tube to rule out that there is exactly any lesion or just an artifact..

Once the cause is ruled out, it will be treated accordingly and then Orthodontic treatment can be done accordingly..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
