What Does A Dark Spot On Lower Back Indicate?

Hi, I recently had and MRI at the VA that showed a dark spot on a vertabrea of my lower back. It showed up on a recent cat scan as well but was not on my MRI from 2009. My blood work is normal. A physical therapy doctor said there was nothing to worry about. I am wondering if I should get a 2nd opinion and I am concerned it s cancer. Any information will help. Thank you.
