I m currently under medication for asthmatic bronchitis, taking prednezone and inhaler, getting better but may psychological fear is that my xray result showing some mass or growth in my trachea tube connecting my right lung. I m 65, healthy, active, never had any chest or lung problem until i got sick from my trip to machu pichu 2 weeks ago. I also had a hystory of uterine cancer stage 1 in 2014 but survived and cleared because the cancer contained in the uterus only and not in any parts of my body. just concerned... I had my blood work done just to make sure that my other organ is clear for CT scan tha my doctor is saying needs to get done to confirm what s in my chest. Thank you
Your doctor is right. You do need a CT or MRI scan chest, to diagnose the details of the tracheal mass. Doctor would also ask for a biopsy of the mass and send it for histopathiological examination for diagnosis. Once these are done the proper diagnosis can be made, and treatment started.
