What Does A Growth In The Vagina Indicate?

I m 56 and had a partial hysterectomy 11 years ago. I just had a pelvic exam on yesterday and the NP said she felt a growth in my vagina. She almost flew out the room saying she d return and have to see someone in another room to make an appointament with a GYN. I m concerned not only with what she said she felt and that I need to see GYN, but that she so abruptly reacted. All I can do now is wait for a follow up/ call or letter. What are the growths in my vagiba ???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern

Growth in the vagina could be a vaginal polyp, wart, vagianl and cervix precancerous and cancer, and cyst.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to to get properly examined, and undergo USG scan, PAP smear/colposcopy and biopsy from the growth.
Treatment will depend on the cause of problem
Hope this may help you
