Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just got a tentative diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma as a result of a wound or growth on my head.. Have an appointment March 7 for a check up... just wondering if it poses any more danger since it is located on the top of my head... It has been there about a year and I thought it was just a wound from a bump that would scab over and then open...
The location itself is unfortunately a prognosis factor for the lesion recurring after treatment but this does not means that this happens for everyone.
The fact that it started appearing as a wound may also be an issue but again some persons respond quite well to treatment and do not have any complications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
