What Does A Hard Knot Behind The Ear Indicate?

I found a hard knot behind my right ear about 4 days ago. It is only sore if I start to mess with it. I don't really know it's there until I feel for it. Since I can't see it, I have friends look at it. They say it looks kinda redish and if you pull at it, it looks white.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems like a swollen post auricular group of lymph node and the most common cause seems to be infection and due to infection there seems to be Reactionary Lymphadenitis..
You should consult an Otolaryngologist and he can advise you to take antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, do alternate warm and cool compresses over the lymph node..
Avoid pressing over it as it can increase inflammation and it can become further painful..
In case if it does not improve get an FNAC/Biopsy done to rule out the exact cause of the swelling and treatment can be planned accordingly..
