General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

Yes, it could be a pilonidal cyst, which has not yet got infected to create problem. If I were your doctor, I would advise you not to sit on it so far as practicable to avoid friction and infection in the same. If it does occur causing pain and discharge of purulent material, I would advise you to see a general surgeon for a proper management instead of delaying a definitive treatment for the same.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
