Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a hard lump in the middle of my palm, about an inch up from my wrist. It s tender to touch like a bruise and has been there close to a month. It is longer the one way and fairly narrow the other. It hurts quite a bit if I stretch my fingers backwards. I have RA as well, at first I thought just a module, but bigger than I usually get and feels different
Hard lump on the hand which is causing hurt when you are trying to stretch your fingers is indicative of Ganglion Cyst commonly occurring between the wrist & hand, but it can also be Dupuytren's contracture so get physically examined in the ER. Hand tumors are usually not malignant but get all required investigations done.
Stay away from addictions like alcohol or tobacco abuse. Take Acetaminophen (Tylenol) or NSAIDs (Advil, Combiflam) to get relief from pain. Get evaluated and treated at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
General & Family Physician
