What Does A Hematoma On The Hip Indicate?

I have a softball size hematoma on my left hip from a fall over 6 weeks ago, my knee surgeon says it will not interfere with the knee surgery he plans to do on same leg in 3 weeks? I am concerned. I have 100% nerve damage already from back surgery 10 -11 years ago. Do I have reasons to ne so concerned?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As rightly said by your ortho surgeon, the hip hematoma will not interfere with the knee surgery, but the management of hip hematoma is of immense importance along with the knee surgery management to heal faster and prevent secondary infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
