What Does A High Heart Rate When Not Under Stress Indicate?

I have been keeping track of my blood pressure and heart rate, the machine I have is very accurate according to my doctor. Yesterday it was 142/80 with a heart rate of 118 today it is 144/85 with a heart rate of 129 I m concerned I m 30 years old I weigh 150 pounds I m 5 foot 3 inch. I was relaxed both days that I took it no stress or anything. Heart problems run in my family. With this I have a hard time catching my breath after I slowly walk up the stairs, it almost hurts to try to take a deep breath in to catch it. I would like some medical advice please.

Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having Sinus tachycardia giving high pulse rate and it requires evaluation to rule out any cardiac problem.
This is common in anxiety or anxiety depression but as you get during rest and without any stress, it requires investigations.
You might require EKG, Echo etc.
Consult Cardiologist and get examined.
Ok and take care.
