What Does A Hole In The Mouth Indicate?

I have a hole in my mouth that has been there since 2009. I had my left upper left jaw tooth pulled, because it was infected. I now have a hole that leads up to my sinus, but stopped short from entering my sinus. I need a doctor who could fix it. I was told that since it didn t make a hole going through to my nose. I probably could live with it, I just have to clean it out often. I would like to know if a dentist could fix my problem for free or as an experimental fix.
