General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Only possible cause for injury to nose while hand surgery is something occurred during anesthesia.
There may be slight bleeding and minor injuries can happen as while performing intubation as a part of anesthesia. There is nothing much to worry and it will settle by it own with packing. You can ask you surgeon what had went wrong and he is bound to answer your queries.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
