What Does A Itchy Mass On Buttocks Indicate?

I have a mass on my left butt cheek , an inch or so away from my butt crack . It started off as a little bump that itched , and I scratched it . Then it started to itch and hurt and grow . Now it feels hard and deep and it hurts to the touch . I can t squeeze it because it hurts too bad , plus I don t think it has a head . It hurts to sit down , stand , move , bend over and I can t even lay on that side or on my back . I also believe I had a slight fever lastnight, because I was freezing cold at first and then was suddenly hot and sweaty .

I can understand your concern for itchy mass on buttocks along with deep seated pain. After analyzing your query it appears to be related to deep infection in the buttock area. The description you have provided is quite enough to note that the infection is spreading inside.

It is quite important to take an opinion form a surgeon or a family physician to rule out any deep infection at the affected buttock region. It is also quite important to take a course of good antibiotic to cover the infection. If required then an incision can be made to drain the pus or atleast a fine needle aspiration can be done to know the inner content. You can discuss further with a surgeon or a family physician.
