Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, My sister noticed that she had some type of rash on her body. She said it itched a little bit, and my mom put shea butter on her rash. She seemed fine, then this morning she said the rash was burning and instead of her just being red where her rash was it look bubbly. My sister decided she wanted to take a shower to help the pain, but when she got out she told my mom she fainted while in the shower. My mom decided to bring her to the doctor, but the the doctor didn t know what it was and said it just looked like Swimmer s Itch, right when she fainted again. Our family doesn t think its Swimmer s itch cause it usually looks like pimples around your body. Does it make you faint and also make it burn?
No, fainting can not be caused by Itchy rash. For recurrent fainting episodes, brain pathology should be ruled out. So get done MRI brain. If MRI is normal then no need to worry.
These rashes are mostly due to viral infection. So tell her to drink plenty of fluids orally. Take antihistamine drug-like Levocetirizine or fexofenadine for Itchy rash.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Kaushal Bhavsar, Pulmonologist
