What Does A Light Pink Piece Of Skin Hanging Out Of Vagina Suggest?

Since i was around 12.. ive had a light pink piece of skin hanging from out of my vagina at times. It isnt painful unless i tug at it. Years later i still have no clue what it is and i was wondering if it is harmful.. especually during sexual intercourse
